Worked just as I had hoped it would.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have always liked Canon printers, but have had trouble in the past with wireless functionality (not with Canon, just in general). I was warned by other reviews to take my time and expect that the wireless setup might be a little complicated, but I followed the instructions and had no trouble at all. (I'm using a Toshiba A505 with Windows 7 and a 64-bit platform.) Scanner, fax, and print functions have all performed beautifully. I haven't used it long enough to comment on everything (need to see how long the ink lasts, e.g.), but have been very happy so far.

watch out
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Unit was complicated to set up. Lots of tape to remove and throw away. Unit failed the first time I sent a Fax. Canon replaced it in a couple of days but they substituted a refurbished unit for the new one I purchased. My complaints went unanswered to this day. That's not right, Canon

Oh for a Return of the English Language in Manuals!!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
First off, looks like a great product: classy look, quality great, performance seems excellent. The real down side, unless you are a major "techie" OR read symbols rather than English well, is that the manual stinks! First off, they tried to put too much information into a one size fits all manual. Where or where is the Canon Printer Installation for Idiots guide?? Took me 1.5 hours to get this all assembled. The printer head assembly under a limited space on the inside is not easy. The "Press, twist and remove" instruction for removing the orange protector caps on the ink cartridges is NOT for any one with arthritic hands!! Finding the serial number one needs to be a contortionist!! If you can get beyond all of this, I'm sure you'll love the printer!!! I haven't tested the fax yet and do anticipate some machinations getting it connected in a way that works for me. I'll report back on that if there are problems. For the price, its a great deal. Just want a re-do on the manual and some aspects requiring manual dexterity. I cannot imagine anyone not up to speed on technology trying to set this up.

Superb printer as replacement for PIXMA MX-850
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Boy, what a nice upgrade! I am replacing a Canon PIXMA MX850 that was giving me great service until the larger black cartridge died, or should I say the Print Head. No amount of cleaning, aligning, deep cleaning, etc would make it work. The replacement head was going to be about $60, so I got the PIXMA MX-860 here at Amazon for only $130. What a nice upgrade! MUCH easier setup than the 850, especially the wireless network. It was a quick, easy setup. Print quality is excellent, duplex, fax, scan, all are as good if not better than the 850. I'm a happy camper! For the money, and with the list of features, this printer is a steal. Get one!

Review of MX860
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have had a Canon MX850 for a couple of years, and just bought the MX860 through Amazon for just over $100 plus shipping. I haven't set up the MX860 yet, but I would certainly recommend the MX850. The 850 is an all-in-one unit that allows me to print and scan remotely. The print quality is very good for an ink jet, but not the high quality that one might need for business correspondence. Ease of setup and ease of use was/is excellent. There are two trays for paper: one at the bottom, one in the back. The the one on top works reliably, but the one on the bottom stopped working after about a year. The cartridges are very easy to install, and the color quality is very good; however, when trying to use it for printing photos on high quality paper the images weren't what one would hope for, but that's because this printer isn't made for high-quality photos. The cartridges are somewhat small and need replacing more often than I would like. But they are completely clean and super easy to install. I prefer buying replacement cartridges from a third-party source, where the price is about 50-60% of the cost of Canon but every bit as good. If you have a light document you can increase your blackness and even improve on the original. Obviously, this will be at the expense of ink, but is worth it if you need it. Overall, this is a very good multifunction peripheral. I would rate it 90 out of 100. That's why I bought the MX860 and expect very good results. When I install it at my home-office, I'll be taking my MX850 to a second location.
